Ironclad Card Tier List
The best Ironclad cards in Slay the Spire 2 right now, ranked by Codex Score from community-submitted runs, with the picks worth forcing and the traps to skip.
Every rating here comes from community-submitted runs on Spire Codex: Codex Score grades each card's win rate when picked against the average, so a B is average and an S is a run-warper. This is the state of Ironclad as of mid-July 2026 on the main branch. The live tier list updates continuously and can slice by A10 and player-count brackets.
The top of the list
[[Tank]] sits alone in S tier at a 56.3% win rate, but read the card: allies take half damage. It is a co-op card, and its rating is carried by multiplayer runs. If you play solo, flip the tier list to the Solo bracket before you force it.
For every run, the real headliners are [[Offering]] (52.5% win, picked over half the time it appears) and [[Crimson Mantle]] (52.3%). Offering is the same deal it has always been: 6 HP for tempo and cards is almost always worth it. Crimson Mantle turns 1 HP a turn into 8 Block, which effectively ends most early fights on its own.
[[Impervious]] (51.6%) is the panic button that wins boss fights, and [[Fiend Fire]] (50.5%) is still the exhaust payoff that ends them. Note Fiend Fire's pick rate is only 18%, players are underdrafting it relative to how often it wins.
Solid picks
[[Aggression]], [[Not Yet]], [[Mangle]], [[Tear Asunder]], and [[Thrash]] all sit in B tier around a 49 to 50% win rate. None of them carry a run alone, but none of them are mistakes. [[Pact's End]] rewards a deck that is already exhausting; do not take it first.
The traps
[[Break]] and [[Cinder]] hold the floor at roughly 31% win rates. Break in particular looks like removal support and plays like a dead card. The data is blunt about both.
The relics
Ironclad's own relic pool is graded on the relic tier list. One reading note: relic win rates run high across the board, because runs that collect relics are runs that survive, so trust the tier, which grades against the relic baseline, more than the raw percentage.
[[relic:Self-Forming Clay]] and [[relic:Ruined Helmet]] share the top at A tier and a 63.9% win rate: free Block from taking hits, and doubled Strength on your first gain, both feed exactly what Ironclad already does. [[relic:Paper Phrog]] (63.1%) makes every Vulnerable source better, and [[relic:Red Skull]] is the best common in the pool, 3 Strength for playing at half HP, which an Ironclad deck does anyway. The trap is [[relic:Black Blood]] at F tier and a 40.5% win rate, well below the relic baseline.
The full list with per-act pick splits and Codex Elo lives on the card metrics page. If your own runs disagree with the community, upload them and move the numbers.
